Although it might look like a black tea, this is actually a green tea that undergoes high-temperature roasting. This results in lower tannin and caffeine content.
The taste is nutty and roasted with minimal grassiness and astringency.
Brewing Instructions
Hot Brew: 1-2 g of Hojicha brewed in 300ml at 70-90°C for 2-3min
Cold Brew: 5-7 g of Hojicha brewed in 1 l cold water for 3-4 hours
